Spirulina saved my relationship
It might sound ridiculous that I give huge credit to spirulina saving my relationship with my partner, but I kid you not I really feel it played a huge role as to why she is sitting by my side right now.
Before I get into explaining how it became a matchmaker for me, let me talk about how it helped me with the most important relationship in my life, the relationship with myself. Let’s flashback to 2015. A year that would seem to many others being my best year ever, but it was hell on earth for me at that time. You see at that time I was really good at looking good on the outside but was a huge failure at feeling good on the inside. In the midst of what I thought was a fall, I was seeking so many things outside of myself to fill this emptiness meanwhile not seeing that I had the answers within. Now the answer wasn’t exactly spirulina, but it was definitely one of the answers. Seeing how Microsoft word doesn’t recognize the word spirulina and keeps insisting I change it to ‘spiralling’ I’ll assume it’s not well known, so let me maybe talk about this amazing superfood more.
Some nutritional facts about spirulina
Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is considered one of the oldest foods in the world. Because of its unique spiralling molecular structure, it’s actually half plant half animal – sorry vegans. It is so packed with an array of nutrients a person would be able to live off of spirulina and water alone and still be healthy.
Because of how little time it takes to digest it’s an instant source of vitamins and protein. In fact, Spirulina is a complete source of protein, it contains the highest concentration of protein (by weight) than any other food in the world, and is taken by many professional athletes to fuel their performance.
My favourite thing about Spirulina is that it is full of a special amino acid called tryptophan. Serotonin is what the body creates from tryptophan and is essential in helping the body feel a sense of happiness and well being. A lack of serotonin can lead to stomach issues, depression and neurological disorders. This one amino acid is so important and you can find so much of it in spirulina.
There is as much iron in spirulina than there is in red meat, there’s a high content of chlorophyll which is known as a blood builder, and the blue pigment in the superfood helps produce more stem cells.I can safely say that this superfood helps slow down the ageing process if not slowly reverse it. It is a great energy booster to the body and would make me feel able to take on so many tasks throughout my day.
Essential fatty acids
Spirulina is the only green food that is rich in an essential fatty acid that gives strength to hair and skin making them look shiny and feeling soft. This essential fatty acid helps fight inflammation symptoms in arthritis and is the contributing factor in Spirulina’s observed ability to reduce allergies.
Switching to a plant-based diet was the catalyst that helped me change direction and fly upwards. Introducing spirulina to my diet gave me the strength and support in sustaining myself on just a plant-based diet. I regenerated everything about myself. From my skin, stomach, liver to every cell in my body. You literally are what you eat and
I became as super as the superfoods I was consuming.
I started to feel emotionally stable, intellectually capable, and physically healthy and it all started with this green smoothie that tastes like swamp water. Eventually, I explored and experimented and discovered how I can make a more palatable tasting drink. So now that you know how spirulina played a factor in helping me develop a better relationship with myself you probably have an idea why it helped with my relationship with my girlfriend.
Spirulina & Allergy
First off my girlfriend was not an emotionally unstable person with a temper tantrum and bad skin that needed to take spirulina in order to be good enough to be with me. In fact, it was the change in my whole being that helped me gravitate to her. A beautiful soul involved in yoga and meditation and healthy eating.
So what was the problem? She was severely allergic to cats and I’m a cat dad. It came the time when she was coming to live with me and I really had to think about choosing her or my sweet cat baby. It was so stressful for me, how am I going to be able to do this. I kept thinking of scenarios but I knew that the conflict of her and my cat will soon begin.
Cat or girlfriend, what would you choose?
When she first came to live with me, my cat was a little scarce, so there was very little contact, but then the cuddles began and I along with my girlfriend was amazed that she was not experiencing any symptoms. Although I give a little credit to my plant-based diet my girlfriend eventually took on, I really owe it to spirulina. After doing research,
I came across studies that showed 270 children living in highly radioactive areas near Chernobyl who had chronic radiation sickness and high allergy sensitivities. Thirty-five preschool children were prescribed five grams of spirulina per day for 45 days which normalized allergic sensitivities in their bodies.
A lot of my friends from my old journey come across my path and are shocked to see how much I’ve changed. Glowing skin, clear eyes, pearly white teeth, an overwhelming pleasant vibe, and I’m always asked what’s the secret. Happy wife equals happy life. Thank you spirulina.
