My name is Julia, I’m a 500h certified Yoga Teacher. I’ve been practicing Yoga for over 10 years, and although I I have been certified, I believe that the personal practice is what makes a teacher, not the certification. I have been a student in Rishikesh, India (Dhyan Mandir Ashram), and in the beautiful Eco-community of Pachamama, Costa Rica.
My daily practice does not consist of just asanas, yoga is a way of life. The way we eat, and our food choices, how we communicate, treat animals, nature, our intentions and thoughts – all of this makes us yogis. I try to avoid using the term yoga teacher, because I will be a student of this beautiful ancient practice forever, and receiving a few months of teachings is only scratching the surface.
Originally I am from Latvia (small country in the north-east of Europe), however, UK has become my second home. My aim is to help others find a balance between their bodies and minds while living in a fast-paced environment. Having lived over 7 years in London, I know how we can get caught up in the routine of dealing with stressful situations. In the long term being immersed the low vibration of the big city, can cause chronic illnesses, stress, sleep problems, binge eating and more.
Restorative Yoga and Sound Healing, Meditation, and Pranayama are the tools that I use to support my clients on their journey.
I have a large history in sports, which began with fencing, where I competed internationally for over 10 years. It shaped me into a strong warrior, developed a strong spirit and love for freedom. I have, however, ended up in a corporate world, being chained to the desk for years. During this time, sports and yoga gave me the power to keep on going. Yoga became my medicine.
As a free spirit I have always been in search of extraordinary experiences, however, it took a critical point in my life to motivate me to take the plunge and grab onto a new adventure. I decided to take control and change my life, risk it all and follow my heart. I quit my job, gave my landlord notice, packed my 15 Kg backpack and started to fly the path in making my dream come true.
